Stanley recalled 2.6 million of its popular steel cups, citing concerns about loose lids that led to dozens of burns, officials said Thursday.
This action affects “all Stanley Switchback and Trigger Action stainless steel travel mugs sold in the United States between June 2016 and this month,” according to a statement from the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
These cups were often sold through Amazon and at Walmart, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Target, the agency said.
The recall affects 12- and 16-ounce switchback models as well as 12-, 16- and 20-ounce trigger-action cups, all of which were made in China. The cups in question retailed for between $20 and $50.
