MIRAMAR, FL. (WSVN) – Two women have died and one person remains hospitalized after a shooting occurred outside an IHOP in Miramar.

A large police presence was observed outside the restaurant Wednesday morning as officers investigated reports of a three-shooter.

According to Miramar police, they responded to multiple 911 calls about a shooting that occurred just after 1:30 a.m. at the IHOP at 11302 Miramar Parkway.

“Shots at Miramar Parkway and Red Road. I receive two calls. Callers reported that someone had been shot (…) About five or six shots. “I advised the subject that he had (…),” a dispatcher said via the Broadcastify police scanner. “And also shows another 10-20 from 11302 Miramar Parkway for the IHOP. It is believed that a woman is outside and may have been injured by 10 gunshots.”

According to the police, there were three victims: two women and a man.

“Upon arrival, we found three victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Life-saving measures were immediately taken,” said Miramap Police spokesperson Janice McIntosh. “The victims were known to each other and it was a targeted operation. That was targeted.”

Initial 911 calls indicate that these victims likely suffered traumatic injuries.

“There is a person on the floor. Lots of blood. Note: One or two people will also be injured outside. Please note that one victim was shot in the leg. We have two black women with gunshot wounds. One shot in the head and one shot in the torso,” a dispatcher said over Broadcastify’s police scanner.

Paramedics transported all three patients to Memorial Regional Hospital, where the two female victims were pronounced dead.

A male victim remains hospitalized, but his condition is unknown as of Wednesday evening.

At daybreak, crime scene officers dispersed the parking lot as police searched the area for clues.

Authorities said they were not looking for a suspect and assured the public not to be alarmed during the holiday.

“People are usually very cautious and scared, but we can definitely reassure the public that this was definitely not a random incident. This was targeted and we believe we have enough information,” McIntosh said.

Police towed away two bullet-riddled cars. At least one of the vehicles had blood spatter on the side.

At this time, the identities of the victims have not been released.

Operations at IHOP continued as usual.
