2 dead, 1 injured in Christmas morning shooting outside Miramar IHOP

MIRAMAR, Fla – An IHOP parking lot became a crime scene overnight in Miramar.

Police are investigating a triple shooting on Christmas morning outside the popular 24-hour restaurant that left two women dead.

The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. in the parking lot outside the chain’s location at 11302 Miramar Parkway.

Responding to reports of a shooting, police found three injured adults. Paramedics took all three victims to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood.

Two of them did not survive; One remained hospitalized late Wednesday morning, a Miramar Police Department spokesman said. Authorities had no information about the surviving victim’s condition, but said he was a man and was under police protection.

Police and criminal investigators worked into the morning, searching the surrounding bushes with flashlights and a metal detector.

They also towed two cars, including a white Acura with blood stains on the side and a bullet hole in the trunk.

Authorities said the shooting was targeted and that all parties knew each other.

Police have not released the names of the victims. They said they were not looking for suspects but declined to elaborate.

Authorities said the investigation was ongoing and urged anyone with information to contact them.
