3 bold predictions: LA will win by double digits

3 bold predictions: LA will win by double digits

The Los Angeles Rams will take on the New Orleans Saints this afternoon in a must-win game to keep their playoff hopes alive. Here are my three bold predictions for this week’s matchup.

LA wins by double digits

Sunday’s game against the Saints this afternoon will be the healthiest the Rams have played all season, and with their backs against the wall in a heated divisional battle, they will give everything they have to secure victory. It won’t be easy. Regardless of New Orleans’ record, they can be deadly in all phases and just dismantled the Cleveland Browns 35-14. Alvin Kamara is probably relishing the opportunity to play against the Rams defense that held Saquon Barkley to a team-record 255 yards rushing in prime time last week. Matthew Stafford should have more time to throw with Rob Havenstein back on offense and Kyren Williams should also benefit I’m predicting LA will win by double digits for the second time this season.

Derek Carr has been sacked five times

Chris Shula’s squad will get a break from mobile quarterbacking this week as Derek Carr lines up at the line and will have more opportunities to be successful in their blitzing attacks. The Saints’ QBs were well protected this season as the offensive line only allowed 13 sacks this season, but that was due in part to their ability to get the ball out quickly. Jared Verse will be especially hungry after failing to record a sack against the Philadelphia Eagles despite some incredible highlights.

After a difficult matchup against one of the best offensive lines in the league, his support team will also improve. This defensive line has been the Rams’ biggest strength, which is why I’m predicting another big game with five total sacks.

Kyren Williams finished with over 150 yards rushing and two scores

The Kyren Williams debate is in full swing in the Rams community after he fumbled twice in last week’s upset loss to the Eagles. Some have called for Blake Corum to catch the majority of snaps, while others have argued that Williams is scoring 60% of LA’s touchdowns this season. He has a favorable game against a team that produces the ninth-most rushing yards per game (134.2) and will be playing behind the healthiest offensive line he has had all season. Williams has struggled to match his performance from last year, but he can put his doubters to rest with a big game on Sunday, which is exactly what I’m predicting. Williams will finish with more than 150 yards rushing and two scores in what could be his best game of the season.
