4 found dead in Milpitas apartment – NBC Bay Area

Four family members – two adults and two children – were found dead in a Milpitas apartment Tuesday evening in what police described as an isolated incident.

Officers were dispatched to the Turing Apartments at 1355 McCandless Dr. at 8:52 p.m. sent to conduct a welfare check after family members of the deceased reported that they had not spoken to their loved ones for several days, police said.

When officers entered the apartment, they found a man, a woman and two children “with obvious signs of death,” police said.

Milpitas police on Wednesday were investigating four people who were found dead in an apartment.

During a press conference on Wednesday afternoon, Lt. Tyler Jamison of the Milpitas Police Department did not provide many details about the case, citing the early stages of the investigation.

“Our detectives are working diligently to collect evidence, speak to family members and work with the coroner’s office to determine the cause of death,” he said.

Asked whether a weapon was recovered at the scene, Jamison said police were “not ready to comment on that yet.”

While Jamison said those who died were family members, he could not provide further details about their relationships.

“Pending confirmation of their identities by the coroner’s office, we do not know the individuals’ names or their detailed relationships,” he said. “Investigators are still trying to piece together this information.”

Residents said they often saw the family members near the apartment complex and never noticed anything unusual.

“Very easy-going couple,” said one resident. “I have had numerous conversations with them.”

Police called the case an isolated incident and added that there was no threat to the public. They also asked for patience as the investigation continues.

“On behalf of the Milpitas Police Department, it is with heavy hearts that we all extend our condolences to the families and loved ones affected by this tragic incident,” Jamison said. “We are committed to supporting them during this incredibly difficult time.”
