4 Nations Face-Off Roster Revealed for USA, Canada, Sweden and Finland – NBC Sports Boston

The NHL’s new 4 Nations Face-Off tournament is just a few months away and now we know which players from the USA, Canada, Sweden and Finland will be taking part.

The official rosters were revealed on Wednesday and four Boston Bruins players will participate.

Bruins captain and left wing Brad Marchand was one of the first six players added to the Canadian roster. Marchand most recently represented Canada at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey, where he played alongside Sidney Crosby. It will be interesting to see if these two veterans play on the same line in this competition.

Bruins center Elias Lindholm was one of the forwards added to the Swedish roster. Lindholm struggled offensively in his first season with the B’s – 13 points in 27 games – but his impressive two-way skills make him an ideal player in these best-versus-best tournaments. Bruins defenseman Hampus Lindholm would have been a strong candidate for Sweden’s roster had he not been injured (lower body). According to B’s interim coach Joe Sacco, he’s “out for weeks.”

Bruins defenseman Charlie McAvoy was one of the first players on the Team USA roster and is joined by goaltender Jeremy Swayman. Swayman has been playing better lately, but overall his performance for Boston fell short of expectations with a save percentage of .893. Despite this, he is still one of the best goalkeepers in the league.

There are no Bruins players on the Finnish roster. B’s reserve goalkeeper Joonas Korpisalo had every chance to make it but failed.

TD Garden in Boston will host three of the seven games on the tournament schedule, including the championship game on Feb. 20.
