4-star WR Derek Meadows is transferring his commitment from LSU to Alabama

Las Vegas Bishop Gorman Four-star wide receiver Derek Meadows has reversed his commitment LSU To Alabama.

He had been committed to the Tigers since July 20.

Meadows’ farewell to LSU’s 2025 recruiting class comes shortly thereafter Belleville (Mich.) Five-star plus+ quarterback Bryce Underwood He transferred his commitment from LSU to Michigan.

The 6-foot, 200-pound Meadows officially visited Alabama this summer and was with the Tide before deciding to commit to LSU. Derek’s father, DeShawn Meadows, spoke with On3 about the visit and why the family was interested in Alabama.

“Definitely it was the strength and conditioning department,” Meadows said. “They are first class. They have great technology. The academics are extremely supportive.

“I felt like I grew closer to (Kalen) DeBoer during the visit. We had the opportunity to speak openly with each other about the business of college football, as well as Derek and his fit in the organization. He’s very strategic about his recruiting and I like the way he goes about it.

“Of course, (Jamarcus) Shep(hard) certainly brings the energy to get people excited. He’s also a wide receiver technician who comes out of breaks, has little nuance, plays the football and is tough from the line.”
