5 people hospitalized after Heavenly Mountain Resort chairlift “incident.”

Five people were hospitalized after an “incident” on one of Heavenly Mountain Resort’s chairlifts on Monday, officials said. The Lake Tahoe-area resort said the incident occurred on its Comet Express chairlift. A spokesman for the Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District said crews transported the five people to Renown Hospital in Reno shortly after 10 a.m. The extent of her injuries is unknown. Her age and gender are also not known. KCRA 3 is working to confirm details of what happened on the chairlift. Photos shared with KCRA 3 showed one chair appeared to have collided with another. “The safety of our guests is our top priority and the resort is investigating the incident,” Heavenly said in a statement.
