60th Annual Chula Vista Starlight Parade and Festival

Mark your calendars, gather your crew and get ready to enjoy the glittering splendor of the holidays as the Chula Vista Starlight Parade & Festival returns to downtown Chula Vista for its 60th year!

This dazzling event made a triumphant return in 2023 after a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic, and this season’s celebrations promise to shine even brighter and bring the community together to create memories and spread joy in unforgettable ways. Last year’s event was a resounding success with a turnout of more than 50,000 guests, setting the bar high for 2024, but Chula Vista is excited to elevate the experience even further this year.

Downtown Chula Vista will come alive with snowflake lights and festive fun on Saturday, December 14th starting at 3 p.m. This extraordinary event includes a Christmas market selling gifts and treats from local craft vendors, and free photos with Santa are available. There will be stunning live music and entertainment programs throughout the day, as well as arts and crafts for all ages.

The tree lighting ceremony begins at 5:45 p.m. with a 25-foot Christmas tree – not to be missed! The ceremony will begin with the parade, which begins at 6 p.m. and will feature participants from floats and marching bands to dance groups and vintage cars.

This year will also feature new offerings, such as a Christmas movie screening at the Memorial Bowl Amphitheater in Memorial Park, a larger stage for performers and presenters, a children’s zone with expanded activities and a storefront decorating contest judged by a local panel of judges community members.
