A source told People on Tuesday that the 25-year-old pop superstar and the 32-year-old Oscar nominee have gone their separate ways.

The news comes just a year after the A-list couple were first linked.

DailyMail.com has contacted representatives for Carpenter and Keoghan for comment.

“They are both young and career-focused, so they decided to take a break,” the insider said of the formal couple.

Fans of the couple couldn’t contain their emotions and expressed a mix of sadness and relief over the split on social media.

One fan baselessly suspected that the couple’s seven-year age difference led to the end of their relationship.

“I told you it wasn’t an age difference at all duhhhhh (sic),” they wrote on X.

There have been few public signs of trouble in paradise for the all-star couple.

Earlier in November, the Banshees Of Inisherin actor praised his love for her work ethic after she received her first-ever Grammy nominations.

Just a few days earlier, he gushed about being “incredibly blessed” to be with Sabrina while appearing on Louis Theroux’s podcast, but those comments marked a departure for the usually silent couple and don’t seem to have had more of an impact made significant comments about their relationship in recent weeks.
