Fox News commentator and physician Kelly Powers has died after a long battle with cancer. She was 45.

Powers was first diagnosed with brain cancer after battling a series of health complications in 2020 and went into remission before the deadly disease returned this year.

She was a regular on the Fox News talk show “Red Eye” and appeared on Fox Business, where she anchored segments on health risks facing Americans.

But her career as a journalist was incidental to her true passion for medicine.

A successful foot surgeon, Powers trained at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and completed her residency training at Georgetown and Boston University School of Medicine.

“She was a brave and beautiful soul who could make friends anywhere. “Kelly loved people and was committed to helping others,” an obituary said.

After years of helping patients, Powers became one herself while hosting a Fox News show about heart health when she began experiencing shortness of breath and chest pains.

After three surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation, Powers managed to beat back the cancer — all while getting pregnant and giving birth to a boy, Bennett, according to GoFundMe. Go fund me

“It’s crazy. I suffered heart failure while writing a heart health report on Fox Business – live – and talking about the subtle signs women often miss. You can’t make this up,” she told Preferred Health Magazine in an interview after her initial diagnosis.

She battled the disease, only to discover a short time later that she had the aggressive brain tumor glioblastoma.

She described herself as “the luckiest unlucky girl” after beating her illnesses and joked that her treatment led to her and Bennett having the same haircut as a baby, the funding site says. Kelly Powers doll/Instagram

When her cancer returned in 2024, friends raised nearly $100,000 to fund an experimental treatment that wasn’t covered by insurance.

Powers is survived by Bennett, 3, and her husband, Steve.
