Magic 106-102 76ers (December 4, 2024) Game Recap

PHILADELPHIA – Franz Wagner scored 35 points and Jalen Suggs 17 to lead the Orlando Magic to a 106-102 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday night.

Wagner made 12 of 23 3-point shots from the floor and made all 10 free throws to lead the Magic past the undermanned Sixers.

Philadelphia was not at full strength. Joel Embiid, Paul George, Andre Drummond and Kyle Lowry were out due to injury or rest.

As the expected preseason Eastern Conference favorite, the Sixers fell to 5-15. Coach Nick Nurse said there is a chance Embiid, who has played in just four games this season, could play Friday when the teams play again in Philadelphia.

Wagner scored 25 points in three quarters before tying the game in the fourth quarter and helping the Magic extend the lead.

Suggs hit four of Orlando’s eight three-pointers.

Jared McCain, Philadelphia’s first-round pick and early rookie of the year candidate, scored 24 points. Tyrese Maxey had 16.

The Magic, an up-and-coming team from the Eastern Conference, only used four players off the bench, but three of them scored in double figures.
