5 New Jersey Devils who deserve to be included in a 4-nation face-off squad

5 New Jersey Devils who deserve to be included in a 4-nation face-off squad

The New Jersey Devils are currently one of the top teams in the National Hockey League. At 17-9-2, they are near the top of the Eastern Conference with 36 standings points.

Without great players you don’t have such a good record. Many of these guys are hoping to take part in the upcoming 4 Nations Face-Off tournament this winter.

The tournament is an NHL-hosted event with only Sweden, Canada, Finland and the United States participating. It’s a shame that people like Nico Hischier and Timo Meier can’t play, but they can look forward to the 2026 Olympics.

Of all the Devils who are eligible to play, these are the five who deserve to be included in their respective country’s squad:

Jack Hughes will be one of Team USA’s best forwards in this tournament

Jack Hughes is one of the top players in the NHL. Most consider him a “locker” for Team USA. Not only will he be part of the team, but he will also play a big role as a goalscorer.

Hughes is versatile when it comes to scoring goals and creating for his teammates, which is why he will fit well with Team USA. No matter who he plays with, he will shine.

Jack Eichel, drafted into the team’s “top six” last summer, is the only U.S.-born player with more points (36) than Hughes (33).

Another player on the team as one of the “front six” is Jack’s brother Quinn Hughes. It will be a great family experience for them to be teammates. Unfortunately, Luke doesn’t have the resume to be on the team yet, but there should come a day in the future when all three are on Team USA.

Whether Jack plays wing or center remains to be seen. On a team like this, that won’t matter as his main contribution will be creating offense. At the end of the day, he will be a wonderful representative for the Devils while he is there.
