Jeremy Swayman and Elias Lindholm were added to the Four Nations tournament roster

CHICAGO – Just before puck drop Wednesday night, the NHLPA announced the final rosters for the upcoming Four Nations Face-Off Tournament and Bruins Jeremy Swayman (USA) and Elias Lindholm (Sweden) were added to the inaugural tournament.

Swayman, whose play was returning to form after a rough start to the season, scored against the Blackhawks at the United Center. He entered the night with a 7-9-2 record, a 3.09 GAA and a .892 save percentage.

“I feel very honored. “It’s a dream come true, that’s for sure,” Swayman said post-game after picking up his second straight win. “Especially for a kid from Alaska, that’s a pretty high peak, so I’m very honored and excited to represent Team USA.”

Lindholm, who had yet to find his footing with the Bruins after signing his lucrative UFA contract in July, was also back at work, centering a line with Brad Marchand and Morgan Geekie early in the first period. He entered the night with a below-average offensive line of 3-10-13.

“It’s obviously an honor,” said Lindholm. “It’s been a while since I’ve been able to put on the (Sweden) jersey and it will be a lot of fun to put it on again.”

By and large, the players from the four clubs are thinking of Four Nations as a prelude to the 2026 Olympic Games in Italy.

“Of course it’s a good time to put a little pressure on the Olympics,” admitted Lindholm. “It’s been a long time since the best players competed for their country, so it will be fun.”

Both Marchand (Canada) and Charlie McAvoy (USA) were named to their respective teams’ first squads weeks ago.

The tournament, which will be played in Montreal and then Boston, begins February 12 at the Bell Centre. Graduation will take place the following week at TD Garden, with games on Causeway Street on February 17th and 20th (the gold medal game).

Swayman joins a Yankee roster that also includes Connor Hellebuyck (Winnipeg), formerly of UMass Lowell, and Jake Oettinger (Dallas), formerly of Boston University. Swayman played at Maine and completed the All-Hockey East roster in net.
