Zach Bryan and Kings of Leon perform in SF’s Golden Gate Park

Another Planet Entertainment, the Berkeley-based promotions company behind Outside Lands Festival, has revealed the exciting lineup for the next installment of the Golden Gate Park Concerts series.

Grammy-winning country singer-songwriter Zach Bryan and top rock group Kings of Leon are scheduled to headline the event on August 15 at Polo Field in San Francisco’s famous park.

Tickets for the one-day concert, priced at $199.70 for general admission and $479.70 for VIP access, will be available to the general public through GoldenGateParkConcerts.com and Ticketmaster starting Friday, December 6 at 12 p.m.

The shows follow this year’s inaugural concert, where heavy metal band System of a Down and Northern California natives Deftones performed to a sellout crowd of more than 50,000 fans. The historic event marked the first afterdark concert in Golden Gate Park.

Bryan is currently completing his highly successful, sold-out Quittin’ Time Tour, completing 85 dates across North America. Earlier this year, the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter delivered a soulful performance at the Oakland Coliseum, his first-ever stadium show.

Last year, Another Planet Entertainment — which operates venues including the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, the Fox Theater in Oakland and the Greek Theater in Berkeley — secured exclusive rights from the city’s Board of Supervisors to host ticketed events at the Golden Gate Park.

The company plans to use the infrastructure of Outside Lands, which took place in August, for back-to-back events. This allows the production team to easily extend the celebration beyond a weekend each summer. But the outdoor series, produced in collaboration with AEG, offers a more intimate setting than Outside Lands, which typically attracts 75,000 visitors a day.

“We are thrilled to bring Zach Bryan to Golden Gate Park Concerts for the first time alongside Kings of Leon,” said Allen Scott, president of concerts and festivals at Another Planet Entertainment, in a statement. “It’s an incredible cast in an exceptionally stunning and unique setting. We can’t wait for fans from across the country to come and experience this unforgettable evening.”

The Polo Field concert permit fees, estimated at $750,000 for the one-day event, will support park maintenance and public programming as San Francisco addresses an $876 million budget deficit, parks officials said.

Another Planet Entertainment also pledged to increase its annual nonprofit funding for programs in Sunset and Richmond counties.
