Boxing results: Emanuel Navarrete KOs Oscar Valdez & Espinoza stop Robeisy

WBO interim super featherweight world champion Oscar Valdez was knocked out by sixth-round defense against former WBO super featherweight world champion Emanuel Navarrete in his rematch at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona on Saturday night .

In the co-feature, WBO featherweight champion Rafael “El Divino” Espinoza stopped former WBO 126-pound champion Robeisy Ramirez (14-3, KOs) in the sixth round.

Valdez, 32-3 (24), was stopped by Navarrete, 39-2-1 (32), at 2:46 of the sixth round of a scheduled 12.

In the final seconds of the first round, Navarrete landed a right punch to the side of Valdez’s head, dropping him for an 8 count from referee Raul Caiz, Jr. Navarrete used his longer range landing punches in the second round with Valdez on defense.

In the final seconds of the fourth round, Navarrete landed a right uppercut to the chin, dropping Valdez for an 8 count from Ref Caiz, Jr. In the final seconds of the fifth round, Navarrate pivoted southpaw, landed a left uppercut to the chin and punched out the mouthpiece of Valdez, who had landed a right at the same time.

In the final thirty seconds of the sixth round, Navarette landed half a dozen punches while Valdez only returned a few, as a left punch from Navarrete to the body (liver) dropped Valdez while Ref Caiz, Jr. waved him off.

In the co-feature rematch, WBO featherweight champion Rafael “El Divino” Espinoza 26-0 (22) stopped Robeisy Ramirez 14-3 (9) and Las Vegas, NV, 0:12 seconds into the sixth round .

It was close in the first four laps, with Ramirez holding a slight lead. In the fifth round, Espinoza supported Ramirez throughout the round, although an Espinoza elbow caused damage to Ramirez’s right eye. In the sixth round, Espinoza landed a right eye punch, causing Ramirez to raise his hands and walk away, prompting referee Chris Flores to stop the ball. Ramirez later claimed to have double vision.

WBO Super Light champion Lindolfo Delgado, 22-0 (16), stopped Jackson “El Fenix” Martinez, 22-4 (10), in the fifth round of a 10th round.

In the early rounds it was all Delgado. In the fifth round, Delgado had Martinez in trouble, causing referee Wes Melton to have to stop the fight.

2021 Olympic silver medalist and current Jr. Heavy Champ southpaw Richard Torrez Jr. stopped Isaac “Drago” Munoz 18-1-1 (15) 12-0 (11) at 0:59 of the third round of an 8th .

By the third round, Torrez had knocked out Munoz and was defenseless when referee Raul Caiz Jr. ordered a stoppage.

Super featherweight Albert “Chop Chop” Gonzalez defeated Gerardo Antonio Perez 12-0 (7) 12-7-1 in eight rounds of action.

In the first four rounds of action, Gonzalez outperformed Perez in all good rounds. In the fifth through eighth rounds, Perez fought but fell short of the impressive Gonzalez

Referee Tony Zaino scores twice 80-72, 79-73.

Super flyweight Steven “Kid Dinamite” Navarro, 5-0 (4), stopped Gabriel “Gabby” Bernardi, 7-2 (3) at 0:29 seconds of the second round of a 6.

In the second round, Navarro landed a combination that took down Bernardi for an 8 count from referee Raul Caiz Jr. Seconds later, a right cross from the southpaw dropped him for a second time. A combination dropped Bernardi for the third time, referee Raul Caiz Jr. waved it off.

Southpaw welterweight Giovani “Gallo de Oro” Santillan defeated Fredrick “General” O’Kun a Lawson 30-5 (22) 32-1 (17) over ten rounds.

Santillan dominated Lawson in the first round. Between rounds, Lawson’s corner brought closure.

Welterweight Art Berrera Jr. stopped Juan Carlos Campos Medina 7-0 (5) 4-2 (3) at 2:58 of the second of 6.

In the second round, Berrera had Medina defenseless, prompting referee Wes Melton to stop the match.

Super featherweight DJ “The War Machine” Zamora defeated Roman Ruben Reynosa 22-5-2 (10) 14-0 (9) over six rounds.

Lightweight Cesar Morales, 0-1 (0), lost a majority decision to Kevin Mosquera, 3-0 (1), over four rounds.
