System of a Down announce shows for 2025 with Deftones, Korn, A7X

System of a Down have announced three major North American stadium shows for 2025, each featuring a major rock band as co-headliners.

The concerts will take place on August 28th at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, with Korn; August 31 at Soldier Field in Chicago with Avenged Sevenfold; and September 3 at Rogers Stadium in Toronto with Deftones. All three shows will feature opening sets from the bands Polyphia and Wisp.

Artist pre-sales begin on Wednesday (December 11) at 12:00 p.m. local time, while Live Nation pre-sales begin on Thursday (December 12) at 12:00 p.m. local time using the code JOY. General pre-sales begin on Friday (December 13) at 12 p.m. local time via Ticketmaster.

Once tickets go on sale, fans can search for deals or get tickets to sold-out shows through StubHub, where orders are 100% guaranteed through StubHub’s FanProtect program.

The stadium shows represent a rare opportunity to see System of a Down, who only perform occasional concerts these days. It’s been 19 years since they released a new album, but the band continues to have a huge fan base. In 2024, SOAD only played two shows, including a large outdoor gig with Deftones in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park.

System of a Down singer Serj Tankian has retired from touring due to chronic back pain and the rigors of touring. In his recent memoirs he revealed: Down with the systemthat he actually left the band at some point and that SOAD even auditioned a new singer, but he ended up staying in the band.
