Daily Show Contributions Fox News-Kyle Rittenhouse Mash-Up

The Daily Show posted a video in which right-wing pundits condemned the CEO shooter’s praise and juxtaposed it with footage of it Kyle Rittenhouse be praised.

The assassination of the CEO of UnitedHealthcare Brian Thompson in New York last week was met with controversy by some frustrated with the state of the country’s health insurance industry. This praise was met with sharp criticism from both Republicans and Democrats.

On Wednesday, The Daily Show released a montage of Fox News pundits criticizing those who praise the accused shooter Luigi Mangione. However, right next to the montage was footage of Rittenhouse performing at a Turning Point USA event – giving the impression that the pundits were actually praising the 21-year-old who killed two protesters in Kenosha, Wisconsin, in 2020.

“Fox News is talking about Luigi Mangione but the footage is from Kyle Rittenhouse,” the tweet said.

The video started with the founder of Turning Point Charlie Kirk On stage he said: “Let’s get loud for Kyle Rittenhouse.” Seconds later a clip of Sean Hannity It was shown how to talk about Mangione’s praise.

“Murder, assassination, vigilante justice,” Hannity said. “It’s wrong; it is evil; It is despicable… (He) was no hero… He rejoiced in the murder of an unarmed man who was beyond sick.”

As the Hannity clip played, the scene at the Turning Point event was jubilant as the crowd cheered Rittenhouse’s arrival.

“For anyone who sympathizes and empathizes with a murderer,” Fox News contributor said Nicole Parker said, “This is a complete upside down in our American society.” There are people who need to re-evaluate their inner soul and moral compass. There’s nothing acceptable about that to me.”

Then one of Kirk’s colleagues on the Turning Point stage began shouting “Kyle, Kyle, Kyle.”

“Sympathizing with them,” Parker continued, “is just disgusting.”
