Morgan Wallen pleads guilty to chair throwing incident

Morgan Wallen pleaded guilty to throwing a chair from the sixth floor roof of a Nashville bar earlier this year.

The 31-year-old “Last Night” singer appeared in Davidson County Circuit Court in Nashville on Thursday and, according to a statement from his attorney Worrick Robinson IV, “entered a conditional plea under Tennessee’s Diversion Statute, which does not result in a conviction.”

“The plea agreement with prosecutors requires Mr. Wallen to spend seven days in a DUI training center, be on probation for two years – one year for each of the misdemeanor reckless endangerment charges – pay a $350 fine and go to court faces charges,” Robinson continued. “Upon successful completion of his probation, the charges may be dismissed and expunged.”

Robinson added that Wallen has “cooperated fully with authorities over the past eight months, communicated directly with and apologized to all involved” and “remains committed to making a positive impact through his music and foundation.” “

In April, Wallen was arrested in downtown Nashville on charges of reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.

Court documents obtained by ABC News at the time say officers standing outside Chief’s Bar on Broadway “observed a chair come from above and crash into Broadway.” The documents state: “The chair was approximately three feet away from two officers.”

The documents state that after investigating the incident, “cameras showed the defendant lunging and throwing an object across the roof. Then we saw an object flying off the roof.”

“Officers arrested the defendant on three counts of reckless endangerment due to the presence of two officers in the vicinity and endangering the public,” court documents state. “In addition, he was charged with disorderly conduct for creating a dangerous condition through an act that served no legitimate purpose.”

Wallen’s alleged actions put others in “imminent danger of death or serious bodily harm,” the documents say. No injuries were reported following the incident.

Following the incident, Metro Nashville Police said in a post

Later that month, Wallen took to his X account for the first time to address the incident.

“I didn’t feel right coming forward publicly until I made amends with some people. I have contacted Nashville law enforcement, my family and the good people at Chief’s. “I am not proud of my behavior and accept responsibility,” he wrote at the time. “I have the utmost respect for the officers who work every day to keep us all safe. There will be no change as far as my tour is concerned.”
