Utah’s new offensive coaching staff continues to come together.

Micah Simon has been hired as the Utes’ wide receivers coach, the program announced Thursday night.

Simon spent the 2024 campaign in the same role in New Mexico and will now join Lobos Utah offensive coordinator Jason Beck in Salt Lake City.

Simon was a BYU receiver from 2015-19 and caught 90 passes for 1,109 yards and five touchdowns for the Cougars. His most memorable college highlight was the road game against Tennessee in 2019, when he caught a miraculous 64-yard reception from Zach Wilson in the final seconds of regulation to force overtime and stun the Volunteers.

Simon, a Dallas native, spent one season each as an analyst at Syracuse and wide receivers coach at Northern Colorado. Before entering the coaching world, he spent time with the Carolina Panthers of the NFL and the British Columbia Lions of the Canadian Football League.

In addition to Simon, Utah has hired another former Cougar, Mark Atuaia, as running backs coach.
