Nearly 5,000 people lose power in West Seattle

Utility crews are working to restore power to over 1,000 residents in West Seattle after multiple outages hit the area Thursday evening.

According to Seattle City Light, 1,749 customers were experiencing outages in the neighborhood as of 11 p.m. Thursday. The outages began around 8:03 p.m., with nearly 5,000 people losing power.

The cause of the power outage is a fallen tree. The estimated recovery time is listed as 8 a.m. Friday.
