The long, strange journey of the dead continues. Nearly 60 years after The Grateful Dead’s first official concert at the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco, Dead & Company will begin a residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas.
The OG jam band may look a little different than it did in December 1965, but it’s still jamming — and the Deadheads still come out in droves to fill the band’s shows. Just days after tickets for Dead & Company’s spring residency went on sale, four of the shows were already listed as “sold out quickly” by StubHub.
In fact, the initial response to the Dead’s 18 shows next spring was so overwhelmingly positive that the band signed on for six more shows at the Sphere in July. It seems fans will do anything to stop the legendary band from disappearing.

John Mayer remains at the helm, handling the majority of vocal and lead guitar duties. Grateful Dead co-founder Bob Weir (vocals, rhythm guitar) and longtime Dead drummers Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann also remain in the band. The band played its “final tour” last year but never said anything about residencies.
The shows will take place at the Sphere, the $2.3 billion Venetian venue opened by U2 in September 2023 (the Venetian is in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip). The band will play three shows each weekend of their stay, with different setlists for each concert.
Each show will feature “unprecedented visual storytelling from Dead & Company, offering fans the ultimate connection to music through these innovative and immersive shows,” the Sphere venue’s announcement said.

Dead & Company 2025 tickets in Las Vegas
Dead & Company will begin their residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas in March 2025. In total, the group will perform 18 shows between March and May, most of them on three-show weekends.
Tickets vary by show, but as of mid-December, dozens of tickets in the $145 to $160 range could be found for most shows. Some dates – March 22nd, 28th, 29th and April 26th – were particularly popular.
The response to this residency was so great that Dead & Company has also signed on for eight additional shows in July. Tickets are not yet available for these eight shows, which could well be the band’s last appearance.
