Missing 5-year-old Florida boy found safe, grandmother in custody, police said – Action News Jax

TAVARES, Fla. – UPDATE 9:30: A five-year-old boy reported missing in Tavares has been found safe, police said. Tavares police confirmed Monday morning that five-year-old Jace Saunders was found safe. Police said the boy’s grandmother, Kelly Dasilva, is currently in custody and will be taken to the Tavares Police Department for questioning.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has has issued a Florida AMBER Alert for Jace Saunders, age 5, last seen in Tavares. Jace may be with his grandmother, Kelly Day-Dasilva, 50, FDLE said.

FDLE said Saunders was last seen in the 1000 block of Wells Avenue in Tavares, wearing a long-sleeved black shirt with a multi-colored graphic and dark pajama pants (the actual outfit can be seen in the FDLE photo below).
