“I’m tired, emotionally and mentally. I’ve seen people trying to portray me as a person that I’m not,” Lenee said in the nearly eight-minute clip. “But what is a testimony without a test of faith?”

Lenee went over her relationship with Hunter from the beginning and addressed every moment of criticism she received through clips posted online.

She explained that after Colorado’s last win over Oklahoma State, security guards were afraid that fans would storm the field and that they would not allow fans or even family members to go underground with the players. Lenee said that was what she was upset about at the time.

“It wasn’t any deeper than anyone thought,” she said.

At the Adidas event where she was accused of saying, “What am I supposed to do, just sit here?”, she said she asked Hunter if she should stay with him or go with his family. She said the clips that surfaced online showed Hunter taking photos with Adidas representatives for social posts.

“The things I see when people make things up are really crazy because that didn’t happen. I just think people find every single little thing and make it something it’s not,” she said of the criticism. “Bird-brained people simply accept what they see online.”

Finally, she addressed the negativity surrounding her reaction to Hunter winning the Heisman Trophy the moment his name was called. Lenee had tears in her eyes as she said that Hunter was “perfect” in her eyes.

“When his name was called, I immediately wanted to stand up – if you watch the video, his mother didn’t stand up, so I thought, ‘Oh, maybe I won’t stand up, I’ll just sit here. ‘” she said. “…As soon as I saw Travis stand up, I thought it appropriate to stand up, greet him, congratulate him.”

“But then there was a camera right in front of Coach Prime and I knew they were going to film that moment and because of the way people are online, I thought I didn’t want to be in that shot, so I sat down .

“I intentionally got off the camera so they could enjoy their moment. That was all. Nobody told me to get up, nobody had to tell me to celebrate with him. I just sat there and cried, I wanted to record it – I was so happy for him, but I wanted the moment to be about him and his family.

Hunter and Lenee got engaged in February.
