Daily dose of social media: Jasmine Paolini and Beatriz Haddad Maia honored with Billie Jean King Cup Heart Awards

Jasmine Paolini and Beatriz Haddad Maia were honored with the Billie Jean King Cup Heart Award, a prize that can be donated to a charity of their choice. We’re revisiting the thank you videos shared by players in a new Daily Dose of Social Media.

Just hours before the start of the Next Gen ATP Finals, the eight qualified players enjoyed a relaxing day and shared a photo on a private yacht, putting the competition aside just a day before their debut. Meanwhile, Carlos Alcaraz and Jessica Pegula were among those who reflected on their season highlights.

Paolini and Haddad Maia are grateful to have received the Heart Award

Beatriz Haddad Maia expressed her gratitude after receiving the Heart Award for her performance in the Billie Jean King Cup Play-Offs. The award recognizes players who represent their country with distinction and demonstrate outstanding attitude and commitment to their teams.

This is the third time the Brazilian has won the Heart Award, tying with Canada’s Leylah Fernandez, who has won the award most often. Haddad Maia also secured a $3,000 prize for a charity of her choice.

“Hey guys, it’s Bia. I’m here to thank everyone who supported me and Brazil in the Billie Jean King Cup and also for helping me win the Play-off Heart Award, which means a lot to me because it can’t be done just about me, but also about someone else’s life. That’s why I’m very proud of myself and my team. Thank you to the ITF for the opportunity and everyone who voted for me.”

Haddad Maia frequently donates to charities in Brazil. She recently visited the Center Gaspar Garcia in São Paulo, a foundation that supported her in 2022 after she won the prize for the first time.
