Haiti resumes international flights

Haiti.- Haiti marked a major milestone with the resumption of international commercial flights from Toussaint Louverture International Airport after months of disruption due to widespread violence. A charter flight operated by Aeroregional took off for Brazil, signaling progress in restoring economic activity and national security. Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé emphasized the government’s commitment to securing strategic infrastructure and working with the US Federal Aviation Administration to lift restrictions with the aim of improving international connectivity.

The Haitian National Police reported the killing of 16 members of the Gran Grif gang during a weekend operation in Palmiste, Arbonito department. This action is part of increased efforts to dismantle armed groups and curb violence, particularly in regions heavily affected by gang activity. Police noted significant progress in their operations aimed at restoring order and security across the country.
