Barack Obama chooses his favorite films of 2024: “Dune: Part 2”, “Anora”

In keeping with his annual tradition, Barack Obama once again began revealing his favorite movies, books and songs of the year, dropping the list from the previous two categories on Friday.

As usual, on the film front, the former president presented an eclectic mix of blockbusters and critical favorites, selecting ten films for 2024. Timothée Chalamet stars in two of them: Dune: Part Two And A completely unknown, The latter will be released at Christmas. The rest of his list included Everything We Imagine as Light, Conclave, The Piano Lesson, The Promised Land, The Seed of the Sacred Egg, Anora, Didi, And Sugarcane.

Obama had some overlap with Rolling Stone‘S The 20 best films of 2024 List which is also included Anora, dune, And Everything we imagine as light.

As for books, the first title on Obama’s list was Jonathan Haidt’s The fearful generation The book, which focuses on the negative effects of smartphones on children, surpasses that New York Times Bestseller list for five weeks this year. Also on the list was Sally Rooneys Intermezzo, one of the most anticipated books of the year. The other books also included that of Dina Mengestu Someone like us, and the posthumous memoirs of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny Patriot.

Obama hasn’t revealed his favorite songs yet, although he likely will before the new year. Back in August, he shared his songs of the summer with a playlist that included Charli XCX’s “365,” Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” Tommy Richman’s “Million Dollar Baby,” and Billie Eilish’s “Chihiro.”
