Tre Jones’ status against Portland is revealed

Tre Jones’ status against Portland is revealed

The San Antonio Spurs will return to action on Saturday against the Portland Trail Blazers. It’s the final three-game homestand for San Antonio, and the Spurs will be looking for their second straight victory after defeating the Atlanta Hawks in a high-scoring overtime affair on Saturday.

Getting wins against the league’s bottom teams like the Trail Blazers should be a top priority for Victor Wembanyama and Co. After watching Wemby rack up 42 points in Thursday’s win over Atlanta, it appears he in particular is more than up to the challenge.

Last time was San Antonio’s first game with a full roster this season, and that fact made a few things clear, even to the casual viewer. To have any chance of being a real winner in the short or long term, the Spurs will need more consistent, high-level play from their big replacements.

Chris Paul emphasized that this team needs to realize they can win now, not later. Now that they are in a better position injury-wise, San Antonio can focus on improving the quality of their nightly performance.

Will Tre Jones play against the Trail Blazers?

Tre Jones is not on the injury report for Saturday and is expected to play against the Trail Blazers. He missed six straight games from December 3 to December 15 due to a left shoulder sprain. After returning in Spurs’ final game on Thursday, it doesn’t look like the coaching staff will hold him over for any sort of injury treatment and he should be ready to play as usual.
