Visians dreaming of a white Christmas might be disappointed to find that the weather forecast for the holiday calls for rain, not snow.
Rain could hit the Central Valley on the first day of winter, Saturday, Dec. 21, National Weather Service officials said.
However, minimum temperatures will also be around 10 degrees warmer than normal for this time of year. According to meteorologists, this warm-up period is expected to last until Christmas Day.
There is a 50% to 90% chance of “measurable precipitation” in the San Joaquin Valley, according to Thursday’s NWS daily forecast.
