The Seahawks hope to increase their playoff chances when they take on the Vikings

Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith is on track to play Sunday after suffering a knee injury in the loss to Green Bay. Smith left the team in the third quarter but participated fully in practice this week.

Seattle had some concerns at running back with both Kenneth Walker III (calf) and Zach Charbonnet (oblique) sidelined earlier in the week. Walker missed the last two games, and Charbonnet performed well in his place, rushing for 134 yards and two touchdowns against Arizona and scoring on a 24-yard run against Green Bay.

Walker participated fully in Thursday’s practice, while Charbonnet and center Olu Oluwatimi (knee, quadriceps) were limited participants. None of the three players have an injury status before the game, suggesting they are ready to play.

Home field (dis)advantage?

Sunday’s loss moved the Seahawks to 3-5 at Lumen Field. It’s only the second time Seattle has suffered a home loss since 2009, and the loss to the Packers was punctuated several times by loud chants of “Go Pack Go” from Green Bay fans.

“I know the first quarter, the second or third play, it got incredibly loud. “I looked around and there were a lot of Green Bay fans,” receiver DK Metcalf said. “They’ve done a great job traveling but I just wish the 12s didn’t sell as many tickets as they did to make sure we kept the home advantage. “But yeah, it would mean a lot just to take home that last win and finish the season strongly.”
