Rattler’s fourth NFL start (due to injuries to veteran Derek Carri) will come in much colder weather than usual for the Saints, who play their home games in a domed stadium. To prepare, Rattler conducted games in the team’s cafeteria freezer. Even without top offensive weapons Alvan Kamara, Chris Olave and Taysom Hill, it’s a hostile playing field for the visitors.

With these key injuries, the Packers are currently 14-point favorites heading into Sunday night and will clinch a playoff spot with a win in one of their remaining three games. (Saints, Viking Bears). However, the Packers cannot make up ground on the Detroit Lions or Minnesota Vikings as both NFC North opponents won their games on Sunday.

Cornerback Jaire Alexander will likely play in the Packers’ only Monday Night Football appearance this season, as he was listed as a full participant in practice on Saturday. Javon Bullard and Quay Walker did not participate.

The Saints will have rookie backup Spencer Rattler at quarterback in place of the injured Derek Carr, and they likely won’t have all-around running back Alvin Kamara either. It will be difficult to score points unless the Saints force a flurry of turnovers. But Jordan Love has played his best football over the last month, throwing just one interception in the five games since the bye. It’s no coincidence that the Packers’ offense has reached or exceeded the 30-point mark in each of the last four games. Edgerrin Cooper gave the Packers defense a big boost when he returned last week and should get his depth back, which should help the Packers on the other side of the ball. It would be a huge surprise if the Packers lost to the Saints on Monday night. They should be able to run the ball at will against a defense that allows opposing running backs an average of 4.9 yards per carry. It’s likely that Josh Jacobs will get a lot of action early, but the Packers would be wise to hold him back with the Minnesota Vikings coming up six days later. The Saints aren’t a finesse team like Miami and shouldn’t be as affected by weather conditions. They are simply robbed of their best offensive players: quarterback Derek Carr, running back Alvin Kamara, receiver Chris Olave, tight end Taysom Hill. The question on Monday night isn’t whether the Packers will win and clinch a playoff spot, but what they’ll look like when they do. Spoiler alert: They win Monday night. The Saints are not a good football team, and with nothing to play for, they can hardly be bothered to leave their comfortable surroundings in New Orleans for a winter night in northeastern Wisconsin. The Packers have a lot to play in their final three games this season as they prepare for the postseason. The NFC is wide open and there is no reason to believe the Packers can’t walk through that door to the Super Bowl if they continue to advance. This is an opportunity for the pass rush that started last week in Seattle to continue its momentum. It’s an opportunity for one of the NFL’s best offenses to erase its self-inflicted mistakes. The Packers have a lot to offer in this game. A chance to secure a spot in the playoffs and keep the momentum going. The Saints have played better since firing Dennis Allen (they’re 3-2 under Darren Rizzi), but don’t have as much to play for compared to Green Bay. The Packers’ first-half performance against the Seahawks should reinforce optimism about the team’s potential, and they are still healthy and there are signs that Jaire Alexander will return to action. However, the second half wasn’t great in Seattle, so I want to see if the Packers can put together a four-quarter game and then turn their attention to a trip to Minneapolis. Packers 31, Saints 14
