If you’re familiar with Christmas songs, you’ve probably heard of “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” by Brenda Lee. The classic 1958 hit has been covered by a number of artists over the years and has become a historic celebratory soundtrack.

The original hitmaker was American singer Brenda Lee, born Brenda Mae Tarpley. However, fans were stunned when they found out how young Brenda was when she recorded the song.

“Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” was released when Brenda was just 13 years old. At the time, the petite singer was known for her big voice and gravelly vocals, which made her sound more mature.

Fans were left stunned by the revelation, with one TikTok user on the social media platform saying: “I remember there’s literally a 13 year old kid singing here and not a 60 year old woman.”

One person commented, “You’re kidding,” while someone else similarly said, “I was years old today when I found out.”

According to recent news, Brenda’s festive hit reached number six on the Official UK Charts.

Wham! With their winter classic “Last Christmas” they took the Christmas number one spot again this year.

Last year, the pop duo topped the chart with their classic holiday hit, despite it being 39 years since its release. The song completed the longest journey ever to Christmas Number 1 and has 1.5 billion streams online.

The band were overwhelming favorites and managed to reach the top of the charts again this Christmas, and for the first time ever they managed to go back-to-back.

Meanwhile, Gracie Abrams almost spoiled the party with her song “That’s So True” in second place.
