Two years of snow fell in Louisiana on Christmas Day

Two years of snow fell in Louisiana on Christmas Day

Almost everyone in Louisiana dreams of a white Christmas, and the chances of that ever happening are slim to none.

Let’s face it: If you live in the Deep South, you may never see snow on Christmas morning. So if you’re hoping to ever experience snow on December 25th, you’ll probably have to take a long drive north.

However, that doesn’t mean it will never snow in Louisiana on Christmas Day. It has already fallen twice in the Bayou State after Santa Claus placed the presents under the tree.

Recently I was watching a weather forecast on News 15 and the forecaster mentioned a date that snow would fall in Louisiana, which I didn’t know. I remember reports of snow flurries in New Orleans on Christmas Day 2004, but now I knew a different date.

According to News 15’s forecast and report, snow also fell in Louisiana on December 25, 1929 in Shreveport. There was about a half inch of snow in North Louisiana on Christmas Day that day, and I doubt they’ll see that again this year.

So yes, it snowed in Louisiana on Christmas Day, and if you’re wondering what the forecast is for Christmas in 20024 in Louisiana, it’s going to be warm. You can put away the pots of gumbo and be prepared to turn down the air conditioning as you prepare to open the presents.
