From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground as the story unfolds. Whether it’s investigating the finances of Elon Musk’s pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, “The A Word,” which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is is to get the facts out of the PAC messaging.

At such a critical moment in U.S. history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to continue sending journalists who speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news organizations, we choose not to use paywalls to exclude Americans from our reporting and analysis. Patrick Mahomes showed his best performance and led the Kansas City Chiefs to the top of the AFC with a 29:10 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Mahomes threw three touchdowns and 320 yards without a turnover, handing Pittsburgh its third straight loss.

Kansas City exploded out of the gates in the first quarter – Mahomes found Xavier Worthy and Justin Watson in the end zone and quickly built a 13-point lead.

A one-yard rush by Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson brought the Steelers back to within six yards at halftime, with both teams trading field goals in the third quarter.

Kansas City started the fourth quarter perfectly thanks to Kareem Hunt’s two-yard rushing score, shortly followed by a 12-yard touchdown reception from Travis Kelce.

Pittsburgh’s offense was stagnant on the other side of the ball, with Wilson managing just 205 yards and one interception.

Elsewhere on Christmas Day, the Baltimore Ravens beat the Houston Texans 31-2 thanks to a dominant performance from quarterback Lamar Jackson.

The MVP candidate threw two touchdowns and ran one in himself in the stunning victory – breaking the NFL all-time record for quarterback rushing yards.

Baltimore would clinch the AFC North Division against the Steelers next week with a win against the Cleveland Browns.
