“Scoot comes up big as Blazers beat Jazz 122-120”

After four back-and-forth quarters in which neither team was able to take a long lead, the Portland Trail Blazers and the Utah Jazz came down to a shot. And Scoot Henderson came through big time, beating the Utah Jazz on a fade-away 122-120. The Blazers somewhat avenged their recent 42-point loss to the Jazz thanks to a fun late-game effort in which they shut down Utah for two minutes while racking up points. Let’s dive in.

Blazer of the Game: Shaedon Sharpe. He received an honorable mention Deni Avdija to put the team in their place and score against Utah’s limited defense while putting in an extra effort on the other end. Sharpe and Avdija each scored 27 points.

Status of the night: points in color. On a night where Utah actually shot better from three, the Blazers finished scoring 48 points while Utah scored 34 points.

What we will remember: Scoot saves the day. The actual game was tough to watch; Both teams looked like they weren’t in the playoff hunt. The Jazz came back and equalized in the final seconds. But Henderson was given the trust to finish Utah, and he did just that to the cheers of the crowd and his teammates. He scored a total of 18 points while shooting 50%.
