How the stars will celebrate Hanukkah 2024

Channel Adam Brody‘s character in The OKThis year was truly Chrismukkah as the first night of Hanukkah fell on Christmas Day.

Gwyneth Paltrow opened the celebrations on Wednesday, December 25th, by lighting a menorah alongside the activist and fellow actress Noa Tishby.

“I think my favorite (memory) is when I was back at my grandparents’ house and got the Hanukkah money,” Paltrow recalled in a social media video, referring to the traditional chocolate coins. “I have such a strong memory of the golden, round coins and my brother and I tearing them apart.”

Paltrow grew up celebrating both Christmas and Hanukkah as her mother. Blythe DannerShe is a Christian while her father is the deceased Bruce Paltrowwas raised Jewish.

Now that Paltrow is an adult, she makes sure to bring Hanukkah traditions into their home with her husband Brad Falchuk and her blended family. (They each have two children together from previous marriages.)

“We always light the menorah,” Paltrow said. “We always get together and after we light the candles it’s really very sweet, we all hug each other and bring in the light.”
