The California Highway Patrol will unveil its newest member of its force at the San Diego International Auto Show starting this weekend.

The event will be held Saturday through Monday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 111 E. Harbor Drive in the San Diego Convention Center.

“All weekend at the San Diego International Auto Show with our new Chevy Silverado Z71,” CHP Public Information Officer Jim Bettencourt said in a social media post.

For a glimpse into the future, check out next year’s models now – the 2026 Honda Passport and the Hyundai IONIQ 9.

Other vehicles, all built in 2025, making their debut at the show include:

  • Cadillac Escalade IQ
  • Ford Bronco Sport, E-Transit, Expedition and Maverick
  • Ineos Grenadier Quartermaster
  • Nissan Armada
  • Toyota 4Runner
  • Volkswagen Taos and Tiguan
  • Volvo EX30.

Auto show officials called the event “a celebration of car culture in San Diego County” and said organizers worked closely with vehicle manufacturers and a variety of exhibitors to “create an event that educates, inspires and entertains.”

McLaren will showcase its high-performance road vehicles for the first time, including hundreds of the latest Smart cars, trucks, SUVs and a host of debuts not yet in showrooms.

This year, more electric vehicles will be presented compared to previous motor shows. Participants will have the opportunity to experience the acceleration and handling of various vehicles on an electric test track.

Other perks include non-electric vehicle test drives and a Military Family Day on Sunday, where children under 12 are admitted free when accompanied by a paying adult.

Active and retired military members can obtain free tickets at San Diego County Mossy Nissan dealers in Chula Vista, El Cajon, Escondido, Kearny Mesa, National City, Oceanside and Poway.

The San Diego International Auto Show is owned, organized and presented by the New Car Dealers Association. According to the organizers, it is the second largest auto show in California.
