LA Chargers’ Jim Harbaugh is set to receive a million bonus following his recent NFL success

It’s safe to say that Jim Harbaugh’s nine years at Michigan didn’t affect his ability to win in the NFL.

In his first season back in the professional ranks, Harbaugh led the Los Angeles Chargers to a 10-6 record and earned a spot in the NFL Playoffs. Under the terms of his contract, this gave Harbaugh a $1 million bonus.

Harbaugh has proven to be one of the best football coaches at every level of the sport. During his first stint in the NFL, he led the San Francisco 49ers to three consecutive NFC Championships and a Super Bowl appearance, led Stanford to a No. 4 ranking in 2010, and led Michigan to three consecutive Big Ten Championships (2021-23). . and its first national championship since 1997 just a year ago.

Now in Los Angeles, Harbaugh will seek the last major accomplishment to add to his coaching resume – a Super Bowl victory. With a young star quarterback in Justin Herbert, Harbaugh could have multiple chances to win that elusive Super Bowl. If he were able to do that, Harbaugh would join the elite list of coaches who have won both a national championship and a Super Bowl: Pete Carroll, Barry Switzer and Jimmy Johnson.
