IDF expands strikes against Houthi rebels in Yemen – report – Israel News

Israel’s long-term campaign against the Houthis in Yemen could have potential consequences such as the suspension of international flights at Ben-Gurion Airport and an increased number of takeoffs from Yemen to Israel, N12 reported on Friday.

According to the report, Israel has decided to collect more intelligence and carry out more attacks on the Houthis, signaling the start of a broader campaign.

N12 also reported that the IDF would increase cooperation with international partners to carry out further attacks in Yemen.

This report comes after several days of nighttime launches from Yemen and increased IDF operations in Yemen. The IAF on Thursday struck the largest number of Houthi targets since the war began, including an attack on Sanaa airport in Yemen.

The Jerusalem Post reported that the IAF attacked Houthi military infrastructure, including routes through which the Houthis smuggled Iranian weapons into Yemen.

At the time of the report’s publication, Houthi-affiliated media reported that US and British fighter jets had struck targets in Sanaa. Washington and London did not comment on the reports.

Increase in strikes

N12 reported that the defense sector is preparing to increase its attacks on Yemen in both scale and frequency.

The attacks, intended to increase pressure on the Houthis, were coordinated between the US, Britain and Israel, the report said.

According to the report, the IDF is also considering operations in Iran. This came after months of reports that the IDF was considering an attack on Iranian nuclear facilities.
