The Falcons dominated the first half and took a 17-7 lead into the locker room at halftime.

The Falcons got a 39-yard field goal from Riley Patterson on the second-to-last play of the half, completing an eight-play, 51-yard drive.

The Commanders scored on a giveaway from Atlanta, but Washington hurt itself with six penalties for 50 yards and a turnover deep in Atlanta territory. The Falcons scored a field goal on an offsides penalty against cornerback Mike Sainristil and turned it into a touchdown.

The Commanders also assessed a holding penalty on center Tyler Biadasz on first down at the Atlanta 12. On the next play, Jayden Daniels never saw linebacker Kaden Elliss, who had dropped back in coverage, and Elliss returned the pick 12 yards to the Atlanta 28.

Daniels is 11 of 14 for 92 yards with a 7-yard touchdown pass to Olamide Zaccheaus after Quan Martin picked off Penix on the first drive. Daniels also has two runs for 24 yards.

Zaccheaus has six catches for 63 yards.
