How Softball Families Can Light Up the World with Joy in 2024: Calling on the softball community to join our efforts

At Extra Inning Softball, we are committed to supporting organizations that align with our mission to inspire, support and empower others. After careful consideration, we have identified this Light up the world Campaign as a program that embodies these shared values ​​and promotes kindness, helpfulness and hope on a global scale.

We are now calling on the softball community to join us in this meaningful effort. As advocates for empowering individuals – whether through sport, education or service – we believe in the power of coming together to make a difference. By partnering with the Light the World campaign, together we can help brighten lives and spread joy during this special time of year.

Just as Light the World supports its mission to promote Christ-like ministries, Extra Inning Softball is proud to reciprocate that support by sharing the program’s incredible impact with our audience. Let’s work together to make the world a better place, one step at a time.

How can the softball community “light up the world”?

“Light the World” is an inspiring initiative by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day SaintsWe invite individuals and families to celebrate the holidays by serving others in meaningful ways. The program is based on the teachings of Jesus Christ and encourages participants to spread kindness, hope and love, especially during December, a time of giving and joy.

By participating in small, simple relief efforts, everyone has the chance to make a difference in their communities and beyond. To help participants get started, the program provides daily suggestions and resources to help people follow the example of Jesus Christ, the light of the world

How to participate: Text LIGHT to 71234 to get inspired

An easy way to join the Light the World movement is by sending a text message LIGHT To 71234. Participants will receive messages twice weekly throughout December with ideas for serving others, learning about angels in the Bible, and watching cheerful Christmas videos. This simple step offers a practical and inspiring way to keep the true Christmas spirit alive during the holidays.

Experience the joy of giving through donation machines

An outstanding feature of the “Light the World” initiative is that Gift giving machines– a creative, interactive way for people to help those in need. Located in cities around the world, these vending machines allow donors to purchase items such as food, clothing, livestock and more for individuals or families facing challenges. Since its launch in 2017, Giving Machines’ revenue has grown over 32 million dollarsand provides millions of essential items to people around the world. Because all operating costs of the program are covered by The Church of Jesus Christ, 100% of every donation goes directly to the recipients. This ensures that donors’ generous contributions go entirely toward fulfilling the items purchased.

This year more than 500 non-profit organizations will participate in the Giving Machine program, representing both local and global charities. Valued global partners include:

• UNICEF
• American Red Cross
• Save the children
• Days for Girls International
• World Food Program

Whether it’s contributing to shelter, healthcare, education, job training, or even the gift of livestock, donation machines allow people to share the joy of giving in memorable and impactful ways.
