A fight breaks out on the field, resulting in penalties

It may be cold outside, but Mother Nature can’t stop the heat of the Ohio State-Michigan rivalry.

That was clear to see Saturday at Ohio Stadium – especially in the second quarter.

In the second quarter of “The Game” between the Buckeyes and Wolverines, a scuffle broke out on the Michigan sideline after Jyaire Hill tackled Ohio State University star freshman Jeremiah Smith after a 5-yard catch on first-and-1 -10 from the field. The scuffle on the field resulted in one of the field judges being pushed to the ground.

As Fox’s Joel Klatt noted, the scuffle was sparked by Hill tackling Smith a few seconds after the Buckeyes’ wide receiver made the catch and the game came to an “over.” Players from both sides briefly attempted to prompt the officials to throw multiple flags.
