A highly rated UNC football player is deciding his future plans

When Mack Brown was relieved of his duties as head coach of the UNC football program, one of the biggest concerns was the future status of some notable signings.

The biggest concern was four-star quarterback Bryce Baker, one of the most talented players in the Class of 2025. Baker decided not to sign on Early Signing Day because he was toying with other options, particularly Penn State, but after seeing the Had a chance to do so In a conversation with new head coach Bill Belichick, Baker decided on his future plans.

Luckily, the original plan remains the same: he’s going to Chapel Hill.

Baker commented on his decision in an interview with On3 Sports:

“I just feel like with Belichick they can provide next-level development that I haven’t had the opportunity to do with other options I’ve considered. Coming from the NFL, Belichick knows firsthand what it takes to be the best.

I trust his development and interest to get me where I want to be.”

This is important news for the UNC football program as Belichick is off to a great start on the recruiting trail. Being able to sign Baker is a big step in the right direction as the Tar Heels look to build the roster for the 2025 season and beyond.

Baker will sign with the UNC football program on Wednesday and is expected to enroll at the university in January. This will give him additional time to settle in and adjust to college life, while also preparing him to compete for the starting quarterback job right out of the gate.

With one of the biggest questions answered, it’s now time for the UNC football program to shift its focus to the transfer portal to add more valuable talent to Baker.
