A search is underway for a suspect who fled to Buffalo Bayou after a police chase

A police chase involving a stolen vehicle ended early Friday morning in Buffalo Bayou. Officers arrested three suspects, while a fourth remains missing after jumping into the water.

The chase began around 2:15 a.m. Friday when Houston police spotted a stolen vehicle and attempted a traffic stop near South Jensen Drive.

The driver refused to stop, sparking a 19-minute chase through the city.

The chase ended near the intersection of South Jensen Drive and Buffalo Bayou, where officers saw four suspects exit the vehicle and jump into the water.

Two of the suspects were immediately arrested by police and a third was taken into custody after attempting to evade officers.

However, the fourth suspect was last seen in the water and could not be found.

Crews from the Houston Fire Department and the HPD Dive Team are searching the area to locate the missing person.

According to authorities, all of the suspects involved appeared to be between 19 and 20 years old.
