A viral video shows a Massachusetts family enduring racist insults at the airport

A racist slur directed at a family from Massachusetts by a woman on a bus at Los Angeles airport went viral: “Your family is from India, you have no respect, you have no rules. “You are not American,” the woman said in the video. Pervez Taufiq and his wife Nichole were on the flight from Cancun to Los Angeles with their children when they said the woman started questioning their 11-year-old son. “Some of the things she said were really offensive. it tells us “We are not Americans because we are Indians. I told her I was born in this country,” Taufiq said. “She kind of started off very quickly with a lot of racial slurs, so very quickly.” Taufiq said it was her son who was sitting in front of them and told him that the woman started asking him questions. “My son said, by the way, that was the lady who asked me questions about where I came from. She asked him if he was coming from “India,” Taufiq said. Shortly afterwards there was chaos on the bus. “She looks at our two youngest children, four and eight, as they were outside talking about the plane and said, ‘Shut up, just shut up.'” I immediately snapped and said, “You can’t do that with my sons talking, such unacceptable behavior,” said Taufiq. The woman was eventually taken off the bus and interviewed by United Airlines employees. However, the family who posted the altercation did not say Instagram hopes more happens. “I hope we can file a lawsuit against them,” Taufiq said. “I hope that this raises enough awareness so that people realistically know that there is responsibility in the world now and that you really shouldn’t make racist statements.” The father from Dracut is now teaching his own children a hard lesson about racism . He said only one person on the bus defended the family. “If you see something, help people,” Taufiq said. “Don’t tolerate people talking to others in this way because racism is not okay.” It is currently unclear what happened to the woman in the video. The family wants police and United Airlines to intervene, but when NewsCenter 5 asked United Airlines about the incident, they responded, “No comment.”
