Aaron Rodgers is one NFL record ahead of Tom Brady

Aaron Rodgers made NFL history when he became the league’s most sacked quarterback in the third quarter of the New York Jets’ ugly 40-14 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

The record was previously held by Tom Brady, who was sacked 565 times in his 23-year career.

After the game, Rodgers was asked if he was the new leader.

“I’ve got Tom in there,” he said, laughing.

Brady and Rodgers were constantly compared to each other when they both played. Although Rodgers beat Brady with four MVP awards, Brady has three, but the latter has seven Super Bowl titles while Rodgers has only won one in his career. Brady also has a number of other NFL records.

Not much has happened for Rodgers or the Jets this season. New York is 4-12 after Sunday’s loss and has long since been eliminated from the playoffs. They fired coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas and traded for Davante Adams in hopes of sparking some offense. But the Jets did little.

Looking ahead to 2025, Rodgers isn’t sure he has another season left. He said earlier this month that he would take some time after the season to decide what was best for his future, but indicated earlier this year that he would like to work for Jets interim coach Jeff Ulbrich until the end of his career would play.
