AC/DC has been entertaining the masses for over six decades. The rock band continues to shake our foundations and will headline a US tour in 2025 for the first time in over nine years.
From “Back in Black” to “Hells Bells” to “Thunderstruck,” AC/DC was a rock staple. AC/DC is played everywhere in the stadiums to get the fans going. Now the Grammy-winning group is heading to stadiums to commemorate the “Power Up” tour that began in 2020.
The “Power Up” album is dedicated to co-founder Angus Young’s brother, Malcolm, who passed away in 2017. He had contributed to the album before and Angus felt this was the perfect way to honor him.
“A lot of those songs were with me and him. We have always worked together over the years. And a lot of the material for this album – in terms of ideas – came from that,” Angus told Goldmine. “We had so many ideas! Even when we made Black Ice (2008), we barely had to write because we already had so many ideas in boxes with a lot of great AC/DC songs that we had walked away from. We also had a break back then.
“I think the only thing we did was one or two shows somewhere, but we certainly hadn’t done much. So we had a lot of material. And it’s all from that time. There’s a lot of songs we’ve done. Black Ice and talk, I thought we should do a few more songs, but (Malcolm) was like, ‘We’ll definitely put them out later’.”
