Bournemouth coach Andoni Iraola speaks to Sky Sports: “The main part that interests me is that we create chances and as long as we do that, we trust the players we have up front and we will all be fine.”

On their progress: “I don’t have much confidence in the long-term goals. I think it’s still pretty early in the first half of the season. I think we have a good number of points, but everything is very close, things can change now and now, at Christmas time, in two or three weeks.

“We have to keep competing well, winning game after game and trying to get points against West Ham. If we can’t win three, only one will do, but we will always try to go for the win.”

On the balance between possession of the ball and directness when necessary: “I think I value a lot of possession, but it has to be meaningful possession. I think we have to have the mentality of having the ball to attack, sometimes when you’re winning it’s good to rest on the ball a little bit. “But I think there are things in our game that we need to improve.

“I think our identity is to play as high as we can and at the fastest pace, and we feel more comfortable in those situations.”

About games won late: “I think it’s essential to the way we play that we need freshness in the second half because we want to keep the same intensity throughout the game, so we need everyone’s help. I think we have a big challenge now because we’ve had it. “There have been four or five serious injuries for us recently and we want to keep the same level and intensity of the players at the start, they want the game finish the game and I hope they can do it.”
