Alabama native Dylan Lonergan is committed to Boston College

Alabama Transfer quarterback Dylan Lonergan is headed to the ACC. Lonergan has committed to this Boston College after two seasons at Alabama, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

The former four-star recruit played one game as a redshirt in 2023 before appearing in two games last season.

Dylan Lonergan will be reunited Bill O’Brien at Boston College. The former Alabama offensive coordinator and current BC head coach was instrumental in Lonergan’s recruitment out of high school.

The Georgia native completed five of six passes for 23 yards in 2024. He also had one carry for 16 yards. During the 2023 season, Longegan was second in receiving yards for 12 yards.

Before coming to Alabama, Dylan Lonergan was a four-star recruit, the No. 13 quarterback in the country and the No. 162 player overall, according to On3 Industry Rankings.

Lonergan attended Brookwood High School. As a junior in high school, he rushed for 3,932 yards and 39 touchdowns. Lonergan was selected to the Under Armor All-America game after his senior year.

Lonergan is attending a Boston College program that had a solid first year under the leadership of Bill O’Brien. The Eagles posted a 7-5 (4-4) record in 2024 and will face Nebraska in the Pinstripe Bowl on December 28th.

Boston College started the season 4-1 before losing three straight games. However, the Eagles bounced back by winning three of their last four games, including against North Carolina and Pitt, to end the year.

Bill O’Brien is known as an excellent offensive coach, making him an attractive quarterback option. He previously served as head coach at Penn State, head coach of the Houston Texans and offensive coordinator at Alabama.
