Alert weather day due to heavy rain and gusty winds

Watch for slippery conditions as temperatures are still near freezing this morning. Heavy rainy weather moves in today, with the possibility of heavy rain and gusty winds. Any early mixing will transition to a steady rain as the southerly breeze increases. It will be very mild in southern New Hampshire later this afternoon as temperatures reach 60 degrees (it will be much cooler north of Concord). There may be a brief round of strong wind gusts between 4 and 8 p.m. as a front moves through. 2-3+” of rain is possible with this system. A Flood Warning is announced for today through Thursday morning. Windy and seasonally cool conditions will prevail through the end of the week, with the best chance for snow showers in northern New Hampshire and the most sunshine farther south and East. Highs will climb back into the 30s over the weekend, skies will be fine Saturday…some mixed showers possible Sunday.
